Dracula vs. Twilight's Vampire Generation
Vampires are now becoming a genre widely known in today's society. The image of vampires though has changes dramatically however. With Bram Stoker's vampire, Dracula was the king of all vampires. In the 1990's when the film "Dracula" came out, a vampire was feared and something not to be messed with. Dracula was apart of the horror genre of film, involving death, bloody scenes, succumbing to the darkness or evil that is "Dracula". Now we have vampires from the book and film called "Twilight". This new generation of vampire is now trying to appeal to the celebrity sense of looks and less about the horror and terror that a vampire instills among the population.
In the image above you see the old school vampire; his appearance is scary with the woman in front of him covering his eyes implying fear. On the right we have Twilight's vampire, he looks a little pale with stylish hair and the woman next to him make me think this is about some kind of drama instead of some horror film involving vampires.
The way these two genres of vampires are different is how they influenced our society when they came out in the media. When Dracula came out our vampire fad that came out were known as the "Goth" fad. Goths were kids who dressed in black attire with the black makeup and favored misery or despair. Goth kids became apart of our social groups in school, the jock crowd, the cheerleader click, the band members, etc. The fad took after the vampire image, surrounding by darkness and when it first came out, it was kind of scary to see a person dressed in some kind of vampire attire. The "twilight" trend that came out with the movie was girls wanting to date vampires and werewolves because they're so hot and dreamy. Our society had a argument about choosing sides, Team Edward or Team Jacob, supporting the vampire's love or supporting the werewolves. Our society made the genre of vampires into a TV's love drama.

What is Love?
Romance is a genre typically widespread. People view romance as a joke, at times, because they never witnessed genuine love. While others, view romance as a sweet, powerful emotion. Many times you hear people questioning what the real, solid meaning of love is. I took the time to research on what love should truly mean to people, and I stumbled on a chapter of the Bible that I am sure most are familiar with... I Corinthians 13. This particular chapter of the Bible portrays love as something divine and something that is able to endure even the most impossible. The author Paul of this Book, Corinthians, uses a poetic scheme to get the attention of the population. This conveys a strong message about love, and it explains what love is and what it isn't. For example, Paul says, "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." This clears many people's doubts on 'love' not having a real meaning and chances of not existing... I have heard many people say that since 'love' has no set meaning that it is undefinable, and anything undefinable does not exist. BUT it does, and society tends to overlook things like the Bible because they aren't religious. The writer however, does not make an emotional connection with this piece of work, but he does construe what love really is and that itself is a big connection. No man wants to find himself talking about love, but they know that they have a big heart to do so, that is why I believe Paul had to have had a connection of some sort with this Chapter of his book. Overall, love does have a meaning and Romance is just a genre many people decide to ignore because it can get complicated, and remembering that people do not have the same experience with love as you might have, is in itself difficult to understand.
Canton Jones's G.O.D.
This song by Canton Jones's called, G.O.D. , is an example of Gospel Rap music. The slow beat and medium fast tempo with talks about his own personal experiences dealing with the Lord, can relate to any nonbeliever of God and even the true believers of God. Some individuals lack the knowledge of knowing about God and Jones chooses to share and remind the world that He still exists and still provides. Jones's close relationship with God exists almost everywhere now; in schools, churches, and even in homes. I believe his message while listening to this particular song, is sharing how having God in your life can take away the pain you might run into while facing life's many challenges. This song also explains how God can help find ways out of any situation. It may not be instantly, but He will take care of you. Many who believe there is a God tend to forget that He is omnipotent, and is able to take away many of life's HEAVY load from their shoulders. This song clearly states, and supports the evidence that God is always there and never fails. Jones expresses various forms of names that people choose to call God, whether they believe that God can be a friend or a Father. This style approaches many lives of individuals who may not have had a real friend or a father. It allows for an emotional touch, without really getting too "churchy"..
